Kbank sponsors charity walk for victims of natural disasters
In disaster-affected regions, it may feel like the world's about to end, and yet here we are, stuck in traffic on our way to work as part of our normal routine.
If you could reach out and positively impact the lives of people in need, wouldn't you want to do it? The Kbank campaign has been launched to raise funds for people affected by the devastating floods in South East Asia.
The floods, which began in April this year, have left a great part so the Asian coastline underwater and millions of people in desperate need for help. Over 3,000 people have been killed and more than 22,000 injured. Millions of families are now homeless.
Kbank is raising funds to help the people in South East Asia that have been affected by the devastating floods. Huge areas of farmland have been affected, with crops washed away and millions of livestock drowned or fatally injured. Many people will go hungry in both the short and long term, and the pollution of clean drinking water will profoundly affect the population's health. There is also a high risk of water-borne diseases spreading in affected areas due to the stagnant water in low-lying districts.
Join with us in the month of June to raise funds by jogging 15 kms every week.
Funds will go to the Flood Victims Development Foundation (FVDF) and emergency medical services.
While the weather is still warm, winter is fast approaching. People are without clean water, food, shelter, and the risk of disease is high, which means millions of lives are at risk each and every day.
We are counting on the charitable nature of our Kbank community members to come and walk together, to help raise much-needed funds for the millions of people affected. Please ask your friends, family, and colleagues to sponsor you for all the miles you walk, or alternatively, you can make a personal donation. Together, we can make a real difference.
